Should I buy snubbers to? Or are they not needed for coho?

I use snubbers. I'm also running braid on my dipsey rods. If your running mono for the spring shallow fishery you probably do not need them.
Now if a "king" surprises you...and they will...you might wish you had a snubber.
Also, if you plan on fishing later as the fish get deeper and bigger, I would suggest a snubber.

Yes run Snubbers also for your Dipsy rods do not run Mono - use braid so there is no stretch. When I was first running dipsys I used mono and either I would lose the fish on the initial hit due to the line stretch, lose it when the dipsy wouldnt release because of too much stretch or worse yet, lose the dipsy to the depths because the dipsy caught a rock or something and the mono snapped.

Last year was my first year fishing Coho out of a 17' boat.... I run exactly what these guys are suggesting and did phenomenally well from Feb into April!

I find that Church boards worked better for me, with cranks behind them, hot and tots or flickershads.....

Dipseys next with stick baits, spoons or dodger and flies....

Flatlines off the back (which when alone I always skipped the boards and ran 2 flatlines and one dipsey) with wigglers, mini reef runners or any other crank really.....
Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.....
