Are you getting on to the lake or just fishing the ditch? When I went by earlier this week the mouth looked locked up still.

Yesterday it was wide open, but I was shore fishing. This time of year Ice will blow in or out day to day or even within a couple hours.

Why did you have to go and report catching fish! Now I'm going to be distracted all weekend. ;)

I grew up fishing the rivers along the North Shore of Lake Superior. The first weeks were always spent dodging icebergs coming down stream. Lost my share of fish when they'd drag my line against the fresh edge of broken ice. (It's still frozen solid up there, though!)
