Winding it up for this trip. The lake was like glass at dawn yesterday (Wednesday) morning but the evil winds were just a few hours away. Great bite going at first light but we were probably one limit short when the sun got high enough for the sunrays to penetrate into the water and that killed off the bite. Remember, the winds were coming late morning. Picked up a couple in the next hour or so then the north wind started and the glassy surface became scuffed with fledgling waves. That was enough to diffuse the sunlight and we finished our limit quickly. Even had to release one while clearing rods. Only 4 miles from the island so we had an easy ride in, but by the time we got into the Put in Bay Harbor the wind was blowing whitecaps behind us. By the time we had the Bro on the trailer the wind was probably 20 mph. I'm sure some of the other anglers waiting for one or two more bites had a very nautical ride back to the mainland!

Another excellent adventure in the books. Will be hitting one of the early ferries and heading home with fond memories and plenty of fillets.  Big fish for the trip was a 10 pound gaspergoo and a 7 pound walleye. Several walleyes in the 5 pound range.
Hope this blow doesn't wreck the Southend fishing substantially for when I get back home.

sounds like a good trip Mike. Nautical is a good way to explain the changes on Erie.
