I've got the day off tomorrow and see a pretty clear night forecasted along with a full moon and southeast winds. Now I've had pretty good luck night trolling for July and August full moons but my question is will it be worth it to go trolling tonight during a September moon when the mature kings are more interested in getting up the ditch than hunting bait?

If there still are some fish around try staying close around the mouth and cast either glow crank baits or glow spoons.

Lines went in at 630 out by 930. Only one king on a glow jplug at 20 fow in front of the ditch right at sundown. I anchored near the ditch and made some casts at the end but figured I'd go to bed and get up in the morning to hit the ditch for better luck.

Nothing jumping but there was a bit of wave action that made it hard to tell. The king I caught was flatlined near the surface as far as I can tell, don't think those jplugs dive too deep.

Last night my partner and I caught 2 jack salmon - 15" and 8" on a cut plug ....right out from the ditch
We fished from 4:30 until 8:30 PM.

Before I started charter fishing, I used to night fish for kings all the time. Basically, the later in the night, the better. We'd typically launch at sundown and just tell fish stories until about 10:30, At about 11:30 we'd get serious and by 1:30 AM we were into them heavy, many nights. Never stayed much past 2:30 since I had an hour or more drive to get home.

BTW J-Plugs will dive 4 or feet on a 50 foot lead.
