I parked the truck after launching the boat and as I was walking down the dock they are holding a ball of downrigger cable. After my eye rolling was over I learned that the release and terminal connection was "missing". There may have been some type of storage/handling error. Just my guess though. I'm sure there will be some convienent excuse though.

It was a planned sabotage when then that car ran over the clip and snapped the cable that must have been bouncing around the highway.
 opps. I was on a roll this morning It's better to ask forgiveness than for permission.
