Got on the water about 9:30 Sunday headed west after setting up. Trolled from black ditch almost to Mittal. 40 to 70 feet of water 2.2 to 2.8 used spoons and dodger flies for 4 hours. One strike but it got off before we could see what it was. Didn't mark a thing. thinking of launching further west next time out. Any suggestions on marinas that way would be appreciated along with fees. Thanks for any info.

Portage would be your next stop west - $10 launch fee.

I'm not dissing you at all, but at this time of year you'd be far better off staying close to either the mouth of Trail Creek or Burns Ditch. That's where the salmon are heading and hopefully staging to make their spawning run. Black Ditch is probably as far west as you should have traveled and then headed back. Just trying to help.

I appreciate the help, I'm new to this trolling. Just bought the boat in May. I went that far because there were no boats in closer and water temp at the ball in 30 ft was still over 70. Thank you again.

We trolled Portage today, we were on the water before sunrise or just at. Marked lots of fish but they seemed to have lock jaw. Ran down riggers, spoons, Dipsys and meat rigs. Only one bite on 5 color with a meat rig about 930. We stayed close to the mouth of Burns ditch and remained in 30-50 fow. Didn’t see to much action. But it was nice to see fish for a change. Great day on the lake though.

We were out there with you in the evening as well. Not even a tap. We did see a number of fish rolling at the surface, One I got a good enough look at to be pretty sure it was a salmon/trout. We ran through the tackle box with no luck. All of my lures are nice and clean now, though.

Went out of M C Tuesday about 6:30pm, back at the dock at 11. Marked all kinds of fish from 15 down to about 35ft in 40-42 ft of water. Dodger and flies, spoons j-plugs varied speeds from 2.2 to 3.0 didn't not have a bite all nite. The fish are there just have to figure out what they want.

I was out there as well from 5-dark. Same experience. Marked some fish, had one hit on a firetiger jointed Rapala. But nothing made an appearance. There were a couple of boats trolling the channel. Didn't see any nets deployed, though.
