I've got a few I use, seems like they have a place at one time or another in the water. Magnum sizes have caught me kings in the fall and the last 3 years a standard red one with a rattle has caught at least one big brown each spring along with a few coho.

Back in the 90's we used them frequently and killed the Coho and Steel with them. Caught some nice Kings with them as well. They still work today but it seems other options work better. The orange and black spot Tadpolly is a classic in my book!

Along with the other uses they can be used in the rivers for steelhead and walleye. Most people don't target them but tied on the back of a set of bells they can be an awesome laker bait.

When slowing the troll for lakers on bottom in deep water, the Tadpollys go out on the surface for steelies. They seem to catch more steel at slow speeds than Thin Fish, jointed Rapalas, etc., IMO. The ol' Bloody Mary (silver w. red ribbing) is a great one when the sun is out.

I've caught bazillions of fish on Tadpollies. Don't know why I don't use them more often. Still have a bunch. One nice thing is you don't ever have to tune them. Red with orange dots was the coho magnet.

Actually, I'm hoarding my remaining tads. One of these days Whalerman is going to trade me his boat for my vintage Tadpolly lures and my Flambeau Super Mag decoys. I've written these into my will for you Matt, but I don't plan on dying soon so if you want them now, make an offer!
