Sharing fishing trips with friends is a great way to beat the fuel crisis. Sometimes I don’t have people to bring up to fish but I still like to come up. I will post an offer to join me if that occurs. Usually I launch out of Portage. Also if there are other southerners wanting to share trips let me know. A great way to meet new people and make new friends. 
To echo what others have eluded to it is hard to understand government policy that causes more pain than the problem it is trying to cure.

Years back Deisel cost less than regular gas for that reason then the feds noticed that more and more people were buying deisel cars and trucks so somewhere along the line refineries started charging more. The process didn't change, just the cost.

You are correct, it doesn't take as much or as long to produce deisel as it does for gas.
