About the Powder Puff, Salmon Slam and a meeting for you with the Indiana
DNR...

Results from the July 25 PP Derby are at www.hoosiercohoclub.org. Congrats
to big winners Amy Powell (largest fish, $250) and Team Rip 'N Lips
(Heather and Lauren Miskowicz, team champ, $600). A record 44 women aboard
13 boats competed in the contest organized by Laurie Wiesemann.

In addition to nearly $1,500 in cash prizes (100% of entries paid back)
the ladies shared plenty of merchandise prizes and gifts from Cabelas (
www.cabelas.com), Glitterbait earings ( www.glitterbaitearings.com),
Mid-City Supply ( www.mid-city.com) and Knuckleheads Bar (
www.zomato.com).

Rules and registration forms for the Sept. 12 Salmon Slam are at
www.hoosiercohoclub.org. Rules are generally same as past few years; $100
entry, $1,200 first place guaranteed, weigh five salmon/trout, depart from
Portage or Michigan City, weigh-in at Portage.

No general membership meetings during August, but there will be a board of
directors meeting, where members are needed and welcome, at 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, August 12 at 121 Skwiat Legion Ave., Michigan City. There is
some old business to clean up, but meeting is primarily to arrange things
for the Salmon Slam. Help is needed to weigh fish, keep scores, clean up
and maybe cook.

The Michigan City Charter Boat Association has called a meeting with the
DNR for 6 p.m., August 20 at 121 Skwiat Legion Ave. in Michigan City. All
Hoosier Coho Club members and concerned anglers are encouraged to attend.
More information forthcoming.
