Taking my annual trip to Ludington. Checked all the trailer bearings, washed all the ditch crud off the boat have added a few new plugs, flies, spoons, line and other things to the arsenal and am ready for my annual assault. Fishing reports have been good up there. Weather forecast, at least early in the week sucks. Usually does. Beautiful town, excellent facilities and it's where the fish are. Ludington has forever been the top port on Lake Michigan for king salmon. And since this is just a "friend" trip with some fishing buddies, I don't have to worry about customer expectations, when to start, stop, beating them up with tall waves and other factors. I might even pop a top and offer a toast to a big king sometime during the day. All that and our cottage is only 7 minutes from the boat ramps instead of an hour drive as I do now.
