Had the day off Weds. 4-12-17 , could not decide where to go, at 10:30am decided to go to the slough. Had no bait at home, no problem right I pass 2 bait shops on the way. Yes problem, both were closed mid week. Darn... Luckily I had some Berkley Power Bait in the bottom of my tackle box, it was do or die, I did not want to go back home. Hey, this stuff really works!!!!! Caught 16 gills most of them 7-8 inches, but 1 stood out in the bunch, a 10" gill. I guess the moral of the story is have some back-up power bait.... good fishing to you all.....

I have a lot of luck with Power Bait and Gulp. Nice gill; I have never been to the slough for fishing but may go one of these days since it seems to produce pan fish pretty regularly
