Fished the Kanakee river  Indiana side, casted stick baits,crank baits, still fished with minnows and night crawlers. No bites, no fish, but beautiful day to be on the water, saw Eagle's nest and Eagle.

Prior to 2012 I fished the kank nonstop, once or twice a week.  Go up river, drift down and fling spinnerbaits, shallow cranks, and swim jigs.  Have to be accurate and throw right into the brush.  Tons of Northern and great largemouth and Smallmouth to be caught.  Once you learn it, it is a tremendous fishery.

Yes,yes, last summer late a very good friend of mine took me fishing on the river, yes the fishing was great, northern Pike , large and small mouth bass. I had not fished for 20 years. River is up and maybe too early.
