Never tried them that way Steve, but will get it a try, thanks. :) We canned 60 pints of them last year and we are down to the last 8 pints.

What do u mean clean n PREP... I usually store them in my vacuum package but can't keep em longer than a few months

I always clean than par boil for about a minute, let cool & bag. I know a lot of people don't boil them, but I just don't like eating bugs!!!

My son Jim stopped by with a bunch this size and a little smaller. He said he saw a lot of young ones just coming up. This rain and cool temps are going to keep them going for a while.

The shrooms keep coming. We put up 50 pints this weekend and I know that there are plenty still out there.
