So we put our feeder up and some cameras. Our feeder stays up for about 2 weeks and then we pull it. We move it around the farm to see what we have.

First week so far,, picked up 9 different bucks.

The last picture is Jack Hunter from HunterBoys Outdoors. This is his father in laws Buck from last season and is a Indiana deer.

The quality of the herd up there is phenomenal. Makes me wonder if the deer up there are same Virginia strain we have down here. It almost looks like they are a Dakota or a Canadian subspecies.
My Searunner 190, "Four "D's" and a "C". Retirement money well spent.

Thanks Don, thats some statement since you have hunted all over and seen lots of deer. Luck of the draw?? Maybe? My family and I have hunted the same farm for over 40 years now. The area does not get hunted as hard as it used to years ago. So we are lucky enough to be able to grow some of our bucks,,,yes we name them.
Our average buck is a 10pt frame, we do get some big 8's. We have 1 buck in particular that is very camera shy. He is the farm stud. We figure he had at one time a close encounter with a human that didn't go well for him. I only saw him once last season. The farmer calls him "Moose"!
The neat thing about hunting the same area is watching over the years how that buck herd has changed. We also used to carry a very light coated blonde colored buck. They had light colored racks that went up more instead of out  and up. Over time for what ever reason the dark what we call swamp bucks are now the dominate buck now. we never got a hang weight on the one my son took with his bow. But we did break our cart the night he got this one and it took everything he and I had to get it to the truck.

Been to warm to hunt but the rain and warmth will help this years plot take off. Mammoth clover with the help of a annual rye grass. By spring the clover will take over this plot and the turkeys will be bugging in it.
The deer are already working on the clover.

We did this planting about 3-4 weeks ago. Right before the rains finally started.

Not the best pic but it is the only one we have so far of MOOSE. I hunted this one last season as he moved across the farm and helped himself to our does.

I was always one day behind him and then he was gone. Now he is back, it is game on.
The big 11 pt. has been around all year. He loves the food plot.
