Well it was another nice opening day. Oldest grandson shot a dandy with split brow tines, then took a couple of does.
Finale count was 2 bucks and 4 does for the family. :)

That real big ten I was hoping for did come by chasing a doe. I just couldn't stop him for a shot with my muzzle loader. Maybe next time.

Did you break the young man in right and get his hands dirty during the dressing chores? If they can put up with that you can bet you will have made him a true hunter. That deer hunting is not a lot of fun sometime. Often it is hours of tedious boredom for a few moments of heart pounding excitement. It is often a lesson in patience that kids have to learn to be good at it. Looks like your grandson is well on his way to becoming a successful young man.
