My son Dan and I along with a few friends went bird hunting at T-N-T in southern Illinois. We had a good trip and got our birds fairly quickly. My German Shorthair is a good dog but on this trip she forgot some of her manners and was a typical hard headed female, got a mind of her own. She eventually got lined out and did a good job and held good long points and caught all the cripples and retrieved all the other birds. It is a good way to spend a day when not much else is going on.

My son Dan is in the sun glasses and the other young man is his good friend and soon to be best man, Eric. And of course my dog Southern Indiana Belle. Can't leave out the dog!

Very cool don,
love to see your pointer locked up. The only thing better would be to see my spaniel honoring.

You know Split I would love to see that too. I have went with other hunters and dogs and watching them back each others point is cool. It is amazing the skills that are bred into these hunting dogs. I like going just to watch the dogs work and seeing how others dogs hunt compared to mine.

Hey Don. Nothing like hunting with a GHP. This was the first year with my pup & it was awesome. Nothing is cooler than watching the dog lock up on a bird.

We are checking into getting involved with someone who raises birds for the different preserves. Maybe we can work something out Don. We have our lease property set up for dog training by the state language just need to update the paper work and we are good to go again. All signs are still in place, so getting an inspection done for next year shouldn't be any problem. We used to hold alot of quail when the kids were small. They would hunt all day with the pair of Brits that we had. Those days are long gone now. Deer, turkeys, a few bunnies, and coyotes is were the property is now. I miss those quail.

Awesome! Gotta love getting out with friends and family and watching an upland dog do its thing. Great looking dog by the way and nice shooting.

Those are great looking dogs. That is the first Vizsla I have seen other than on the big dog shows on tv. The GSHP you have Steve is a beautiful dog. Just from my limited experience you can't go wrong with a shorthair. Birddogs can you tell me a little about your dog? Maybe some strengths and weaknesses?
Yep Ed I would love to try hunting some birds up north as there are darn few around here.
