I recently installed a new boat winch on my trailer to help wrestle the Searunner on to the trailer. I studied the options out there and decided on a 3200# Fulton F2 2 speed winch. Cost around the $135 price point but it has a lifetime limited warranty. It is well made and has an aluminum housing to protect the gears and the heavy duty strap. What I really like is the ease of switching the winch from retrieve to neutral and to unwinding the strap. No levers to fool with just an easy turn knob that has positive detents. Also changing speeds is as easy as pulling out on the handle and pushing back in. They come in pull weights as low as 1600# also. They also have a plastic strap guide on the housing to keep the strap from fraying on the spool.
My trailer came with a 1800# one speed Fulton and it is too little of a winch as it had a full drum of strap,20 ft, which reduced the pulling power to about 900 pounds. To get the 1800# you could only have 2 or 3 wraps on the drum. So far seems like money well spent

My Searunner 190, "Four "D's" and a "C". Retirement money well spent.

You betcha! On the regular speed it was easy to pull in and on the low range mode it is almost effortless. It just takes a little longer because you are not taking in as much strap per handle revolution. It is not going to replace an electric winch but it is the next best thing I have seen. It sucks when a trailer is tough to load because of ramp angles and a trailer that needs some guide on improvements and no powering on rules.
