Have 2 batteries, one of battery cases filled with water and had to replace the battery. I drilled a 1/4 inch drain hole on each of the battery boxes. Never seen this before.

No the battery did not rupture, it was rain water. Looks like a floor drain in the groove under the floor cover plate was plugged.
