Here's the next fish I'm going for instead of lakers. You need no boat just a rod and chair. Had at least 30 or more on some in the 30s range with a 20lb average.

Lake Michigan, can catch them at portage walkway, portage marina or port. Had some that were bigger that would of spooled me if line did not break. I had some relatives come up from out east (one that fishes carp series), with the reports so so on the lake, it's carp time. It was pretty much none stop action with 3 rods out with multiply doubles. Yea, I was trying to get the secret dough ball sauce but should have plenty around. Mike

The flavor we were using was strawberry and maple dough ball. The products are available at one on baits. They carry all kinds of flavors for carp and other species including herring oil. Mike

Impressive catch.
There is a sizable and faithful following for these bronze bombers at MC, which is mostly a night bite for the biggest ones. Probably a larger following among the non-charter guys than lake trout.

They are not my cup of tea personally but seems there is no shortage of them for you to catch. I personally know guys who can't stand catching/eating Lakers but I am good with them. Wish you luck in targeting them. My wife caught one on Bull Shoals trolling a Rapala with a jet diver so not sure if that was a fluke or a technique that may work.

I'm not out of the big lake game, just got smaller boat and just can't get to them 20 plus miles out. Think the young ones like it more than the bluegill fishing.

Here's a mirror carp I think they call them. Has no scales on it.

That's great. I bet the kids Love catching those big fish. Funny story - before Hammond Marina was reworked with the gambling boat and stuff we were walking the marina wall and there were a couple kids trying to catch the carp. they would throw the line in and try to snag them reeling as fast as they could. You could see the carp shoot after the bait but they were reeling so fast trying to get the ones in front that the ones chasing couldnt catch it. If they would have just thrown the line in and reel it slower they would have actually caught them.
