Unfortunately didn't have a scale with, but I think this walleye we sampled in Michigan City yesterday might have cracked 14 pounds

31 inches long and the absolute fattest walleye I have ever seen. And I've seen 2 over 13 pounds on our certified scale in the last 2 years.

Forgot to mention - it was very lively when brought up, and is still swimming out there

One of theese day... I hit up the basing for a few casts this evening at sunset on my way home from the creek. Ive been very close to couple, had hands on them, but still have yet to catch on myself. That one I posted pics of last October from the lower little cal is the closest I’ve come to catching a big lake eye. Im off work til Monday. Might have to get a little bit refocused on that quest. Awesome fish.

Like hunting for Sasquach with a rod and reel. Good luck on the hunt for Mr. BigEye

Ben, this eye was caught a good ways out in the lake I'm presuming from the pics?
I know my walleye club out of Mishawaka works with the DNR and stocks the St Joe every year but it would be great to see them stock even for a few years some eyes in the big lake here.

No, it was not caught a good ways out in the lake.

In fact, we never catch walleye more than 1/4 mile from shore in our sampling. There's not enough habitat for them out that far. They are pretty much only found near weeds/rip rap structure in Indiana's waters of Lake Michigan
