Got a channel cat casting for kings, then filled a quck limit perching, then nabbed a few bass and pike back in the ditch. Kept one to see how ditch pike is ;)

What is with the Cats? I got one today on 8 color Leadcore trolling at almost 3MPH. He was a big fat cat and took almost 15 minutes to get in. I couldn't believe a cat hit a trolling stick bait.

there is actually a ton of cats out there at certain times. If one were to target them, they could do real well.

Yea he was a big old cat. 400+ feet of leadcore out so it took a bit to get him in. Wish I had a scale to see what it weighed but I would say it was 10 lbs or more. I threw him back after he was in the live well for a bit to ensure he would survive. He swam off in a rush when I put him back.

I Got this one last time we went cat fishing out there, I'm sure you could get into some monsters if you spent enough time fishing for them

I have a question about the Pike. When did they start showing up in the ditch? I never heard of anyone catching Pike in there until I saw a guy catch one during a bass tournament earlier this year. Shamefully I've never caught a Pike in my life, are there enough of them in there to target them specifically?

I would tend to think they have always been there. You could probably target them specifically, but I would just bass fish and you will catch them. Crankbaits and spinnerbaits specifically. Unlikely to catch any on plastics, but its possible.

I have caught them in the creeks steelhead fishing years ago. Usually while casting spinner baits.
