Very few people fishing, which is why there's no reports

Some success in the 50-60 foot depths off Gary Light last week, but only a coupla boats that were targeting

Fish are in the midst of the spawn and scattered. If this year follows the pattern of the last 3 or 4, the best perch fishing won't set up until late July and it will peak in September and stay good into October. But very few people will be out taking advantage of that fall bite

Those two days last week, which of course I worked, were the only two days without 20mph winds in about 2 months. It’s so tough to hit a decent weather window to find them and cash in on it. It’d be nice to have a couple of boats to cooperate with, but the last thing I would want to do is blast info out to the whole internet. Hopefully they’re out there having a good spawn and growing.

I haven’t put the boat in the water in over a month. Made a couple of pit/pond runs for gills and have been playing with bass and the occasional steelhead from shore. In my opinion the weather has not been right. Looking at the 10 day, I’m hoping maybe next week. For summer perch I think we really need a thermocline to set up. That said, there’s probably a couple guys that are pounding them all a line out there in the fog and 50 degree water.

Haus, recent years the perch show up with the steelhead. The perch will be here (burns Ditch) usually the 1st week of July. During the month of July I usually can get a limit 1 out of 3 trips. Not like the 1980's.

A friend was out of St Joe yesterday and said he marked a boatload in 25 feet but they were very finicky and had alewives mixed in. He only ended up with 5

That north blow and cold front set us back, the thermocline was starting to form and then it got destroyed
