Check out the new fish cleaning station set to open in South Haven, MI soon: talk about catering to perch fishermen - they even purchased a huge, brand new Potato peeler just for scaling. Would love to see Portage do something like this, although they have no room for it, let alone the parking. My understanding was it's funding partially by a grant from the DNR and sportsmen dollars from the few folks I talked to, but don't quote me on that.

Just thought I'd share with some of the perch guys here, in case you take a road trip.

That's great. South Haven is on my list of places to go, but I'm not sure how or where to buy an out of state license? Also, I thought I saw a cleaning station in Washington Park in MC. Is it pretty decent?

You can buy your Michigan license online here:

Washington Park and Trail Creek Marina in Michigan City both have good cleaning stations. Definitely not as nice as this new South Haven one will be, but they are adequate.

Used to chase the perch out of South Haven in the early to mid nineties. My 85 Lund TYEE 18' GL(Great Lakes) model came from the Lund Dealership in South Haven at that time(All Seasons Marina I think was the name). Also use to drive up there and go out on the Captain Nichols perch head boat. They had two boats along with their competition "Captain Chuck". All are long gone...... KJK
