Fished this morning down by the Chalets. Had good action early, including 2 triples and a double, but then they shut down and we had to pick away at them. The thermocline is yo-yoing back and forth. Hopefully it'll stabliize and the bite will really turn on.

Good size, most were 11 to 12s with a couple 13s and 14s mixed in

38-41 feet was best, just inside the temp break

Went out of St Joe yesterday. Fished from 7:00 until 10:00. Found fish in front of what we call “the wall”. 36 feet. Only 12 between 2 people but nice size. Did sort another 6-8 small ones.

I found this post and really thankful there is some chatter as I juat bought a boat this year and new to big lake perching. Used to catch them off the piers when I was a kid. Followed the original posters advice and while i only got a single drift in i did pick up a few. 35'-40' depth, just south of the chalets.

Nice job, glad the info was helpful

Since you're new to big lake perch fishing, here's an overview of the fishery with some tips. When I'm perch fishing I watch the Michigan City and Bridgman(Cook) buoy water temps like a hawk. It can really make a huge difference in finding fish
