5/7, six lines in from 5-8 pm aboard Three Buoys. Lakers aren't favorite target, but there have been some big, beautiful-looking (if not hard-fighing) trout being taken in the 90' range northwest of Michigan City since Classic weekend.
Flapper charter boat reported 18 lakers up to 15 pounds, but only two coho Thurs. morning - and other boats looking for silver could not find any concentration around MC.
Once we stumbled on a patch of lakers in 92', it was six bites in 40 minutes on two rods bumping bottom. Five came on tin can dodger with white fly, one on magnum Lemon Ice. Impressive looking trout between nine and 13 pounds.
Trolled all the way into 65' hoping for a salmon or steelie, but zero takers.
Lakers were full of gobies, same as they were the previous weekend.
