Fri 3/23. Arr Portage launch 8:12am EST. (7:12am local). Wind was lite out of NE so headed down to Gary Lite. First line in - J-9 green/char picked up first coho before second line set. Good day fishing, went 16 / 22 but had 4 shorts. the 6 lost were in sight of boat. Water temp inside 42.6. Lake was 38. Water very stained. Hot baits were J-9's and #7 Flicker shads in green/pearl, green/chart. 30-40ft off boards and 3-5 down on riggers. Even flat lines worked. Winds began to pick up around 10am and made for sloppy fishing. Fish kept biting. By 11:30 enough was enough. Waves built to 3-4's. Headed back at 8mph into the waves. Good day, tired bodies.
