A few guys had Steel Head on Sunday by Portage beach walk. I couldn't tell if they were Skamanian. The ones I looked at were pretty big in the gut and I thought Skamania are more slender. Took a walk out when I saw more than usual fishing. With the rain we've been getting and bait around it makes sense to be a little early....Shrimp

all the piers are starting to heat up. Typically middle of June is the prime near shore/ pier fishing for them. Pier fishing Skamania is some of the most fun fishing youll ever do on spinning gear.

Very hard to tell a steelhead strain by just looking at it, especially dime bright fresh in the big lake. Pretty good bet though that if there's a steelhead in 65 degree water at an Indiana harbor mouth in June/July, that it's a skam :)

Couple hundred have been passed up from the lamprey barrier in Trail Creek, they are starting to trickle in. Next few days oughta heat up I would think
