Fished the powder puff tournament for the first time ever. My two daughters, my wife, and myself on the boat. Could not leave the dock until 7 AM. Went straight north. Went farther than the rest of the pack it seemed. Lakers, a few cohos, and one very acrobatic steel head. Took fish on riggers, LC, copper, and dipsys. Our biggest Laker came on a braid Dipsy with a 8” flasher fly. 10 color with a mixed veggie continues to be hot for me. The steel head came on three color with an orange crush pro king spoon. That same set up caught a nice steelhead the day before. It’s amazing how much things can change in one day. Went out and fished on Friday and did very well. Went back on Saturday to the same area and didn’t have a bump. Kept moving and started to pick away. The hottest set up on Friday was my stinger green dolphin slider and on Saturday it never took a hit. Thank you to the Hoosier Coho club for putting on this event! We will definitely be fishing it again next year.
