Launched at EC 7AM went out north past gong to 65fow and set lines. Went 2 for 3 steelhead. All 3 hit the same setup-green flasher and 2"green/blue fly at 59' on dr. Landed the two when the release didn't work and lost the one halfway to the boat when the dr release worked! Is it possible that when the release doesn't work the hooks set better bc more tension on line?
Anyway, a couple of happy boys

Thanks for the report, for the release you could probably make an arguement both ways. If a fish is barely hooked, then that slight shock of the release itself could cause the fish to be lost, but he probably would have gotten off anyway if hooked that poor. On the contrary, the shock of the release can help set the hook, if not set well already. I wouldnt give it to much thought or worry.
