Headed to Michigan city in May with the family: Wife and two sons 19 and 14. I’ve got one shot to show them a good time and introduce them to lake fishing. The goal is for them to catch a fish. Period. Any fish is fine. Keepers would be awesome but catches and pics are what I’m after. Who would you recommend? Many thanks!!

Boater Dame would be another one to check out. Also May is a really good time to be fishing around here. I wouldn’t do anything on may2/3 bc that is the coho classic, a really big tournament everyone does so find a trip that weekend would be hard. Good luck and fish on.

I don't know all the charters operating our of Indiana, but by and large, all were accomplished fishermen before they turned "pro". All their boats are inspected by the DNR, all are license by the Coast Guard and since they are pros, they can afford quality equipment, electronics and tackle. This isn't a deal where anyone with a good bilge pump and a couple of Walmart rods can take you catfishing.

Check out Indiana's North Coast Charter Association for a list of captains who fish out of all of Indiana's ports. Find one with the available date or dates you will be in town and see if they are available.
