I ordered some fly tying tinsel from a company called "PurpleTaco". They have a wealth of colors, sizes, material lengths, and types such as cracked ices, and holographic and glows. I spoke with the owner of the place over the phone and he was a pleasure to speak with as he is one of us. They ran a Black Friday deal for 15% off your order and I got some new and different material to use for my next batch of peanut flies. The material is a banded, standard cut tinsel that is 4 inches long. The strands are wider and probably a bit stronger than the flashabou I have been using. The strands are held together with a 1/4" band and the pieces of tinsel are 3 feet long. A lot of flies. Should be easier to make the flies with the band on the material also.
Look them up on the web at www.purpletacoflysupply.com .

Tim make sure you try some of the "Baby Blue cracked ice" it is awesome. It really has a chameleon effect. Light blue but reflects as green and light gold in bright light.

I have been busy tying up some peanut flies and some 4 inch flasher flies in between deer hunts. Here is some pics of a few of them.

Those look pretty nice Don. I haven't started looking at next year's stuff yet. Still cleaning up from hunting season. LOL But it's coming soon. I do like some of the colors at this site & will be ordering some soon. I'll need to look through the material I have then order. Of course then it will be paint for spoons & lures then tapes. It's like never ending. But gives me something to do in the winter.
