With all the bait and good fishing right know by east Chicago. I was wondering if anyone has shot out a little deep or went out to some of the staple spots like the gong? Any luck out there yet? Bait anywhere out further?

Planning a trip for Friday and I'm back and forth on Portage or east Chicago.:/

Why leave fish to look for fish? Actually, I was way out on the shoals one day last week. didn't have time to turn back. I was still catching fish maybe a third of the way out to the gong. Still, as long as the fish are nearshore, I'm sticking to nearshore. It will be changing soon, however.
