Everyone has great days on the water when you massacre the fish and you fill the fridge. But really the big and memorable days for me are days when you do your homework and due diligence and you finally pull the trigger and buy your rig. It does feel good. The next day that makes me happy is the day I sell a boat and did not take it up the rear end. Sort of a feeling of relief for me.
The last big day has just happened for me and is the also the first time it is happened. I paid my Searunner off and I have the titles in my possession now. With some good investment in the market I managed to pay the boat off almost 2 years early. That really Makes a guy feel great. I recommend it to everyone who is paying for one. Who’s ready for spring? I am betcha!

I hate payments. In general for my entire life, I did it the "old fashioned" way - I saved up for it. I haven't made a car payment for probably 30 years. I paid cash for the Brother Nature versions 1, 2, (I borrowed a few bucks from my dad for version 3), cash for numbers four and five. Perhaps that's smart, perhaps that's dumb, I often look at friends and family with bigger houses, shiny new cars and other stuff along with payments out the wazoo.
On the other hand, I sleep well every night . Perhaps I'm unAmerican?

If you think about a bit a cash buy is the cheapest way to get anything. Payment plans were my only option for a long time with my kids in Catholic schools and going to college. With them on their own now it is easier to get things but that is life for American families. My big issue boats is that I was never completely happy with any of my other boats. Kept me buying the things. Maybe I will be happy with this one for a years to come.

Let's just hope it's "mostly perfect"..... A guy's gotta dream a bit.
