i attempted to launch from the Jerose/amerister beach but the parking lot was not even plowed of snow. also, it looks like indiana park district had not opened the lakefront. seems odd to me.   i then went to calumet park ramps and found 2' icebergs on ramp with ice still 10' out on water. i will try again next weekend

Portage was wide open yesterday and today. Lots of boats out and the DNR hot on their trail. Small ice chunks floating here and there.

I went to Michigan city today . Washington park ramp iced in. Where can I launch in Michigan City?

Trail Creek Marina probably.   Else just go to portage.  Better ramps.

Anyone have a update on East Chicago/Pastrick boat ramp? Don't necessarily need the docks, just wonder if they're allowing launching yet, or even if the ice has left that area.

I just called East Chicago boat ramp. They are open 24/7.
