Can anyone recommend a decent motel that caters to or doesn't mind fisherman, thinking of heading over in a couple weeks to give it a try. thanks

Check out “Bridge Inn” in Michigan City. It’s not New Buffalo, but they have slips available. I tried to post a link, but not working for me for some reason.

Theres 4 or 5 chain hotels next to Mcdonalds by I-94 exit with 3 mile straight shot to boat ramp New Buffalo. If you go 15 minutes straight south to Laporte IN there is another cluster of hotels by Pine Lake ave and 4 breakfast/tavern/restaurants within 400' walking distance of hotels. I live in this area and frequent eating establishments but can't comment on hotels or room rates. Do notice most look fairly busy on the weekends and occasionally notice boats on trailers in parking areas.
