I turned 64 last May. I purchased my fishing license along with the trout/salmon privilege to fish last year. This season I got to buy my senior lifetime fishing license. Very cheap to buy at $23 plus a couple of fees. Total cost was $24.88. Includes the salmon/trout privileges also. All you have to be is 64. I would rather be 34 but being 64 has at least one perk. Check it out on the DNR web page if you need more info about getting one if you are getting close or are already there. Hopefully you will have better timing than I had.

Yeah Don I got mine when I turned 65. I'm 71 now & back them it was $3.00 per year or &17.00 for life. I go & print it out every year just to have a nice new copy to show when/if I get checked.

Funny thing is with me I didn’t know about them until last season. For some reason I had in my mind at 65 you no longer needed a license to fish in Indiana. Any way I thought the post could be like a PSA to some uninformed folks like I apparently was about those senior license. The state would be well served to extend the same privileges to the hunting community.

I whole heartadly agree. Why not include hunting the same as fishing. We have been paying both for years.

I won't be 64 till July but next year I'll be all set, but I thought you still had to buy a salmon stamp every year? That's great news if it's included.
