Heading out tomorrow morning. I have the rods loaded. May be only two of us so what lures do I have tied on?

If there are two, I'll scratch the d-riggers completely and start out with two lines on side planer boards port and starboard and a pair of divers. Divers will be set on 3.5, one with 15 feet of line deployed, one with 20. One diver will have a J-9 Rapala in orange/gold. The other will have a #4 Mepps Fury (black with orange dots). I've caught an amazing number of coho on Mepps spinners and they are terrific four feet behind a shallow dipsey.
On the planer lines -- one Rattlin ThinFin (hot red/black squiggle) per side. One side will get a "Demon" color #6 Shad Rap. Demon is a hot-red crawdad color. The other side will be paired with a fire-tiger Jointed Shad Rap.
Put another person on board and I'll add two more Red/black squiggle ThinFins and a single downrigger line with another J-9 Rapala, orange/gold running 50 feet back, 4 feet deep. If I had a forth, I'd downrig a J-9 in firetiger, a small double-orange crush spoon and a gold/black J-11 down close to the bottom. The gold/black is a great goby imitator and accounts for some really nice browns, lakers and cohos each year in the spring.
Ya gotta have a plan and love it when the plan comes together!

Good luck tomorrow Mike. J9 orange on down rigger best for me last 2 times out. J9 fire tiger was getting hot also. Caught the biggest coho on a board with 2 color using a silver sutton. I bet you know what that is.

Nice breakdown on what you're running and why. Hoping to get out on Saturday morning. Look forward to hearing how you do. Good luck and hope you fill the box and have a blast. Nick.

Are you going out of East Chicago or Portage?? I'm hoping to get the boat out of winter storage and start working on it next weekend and be ready to go the weekend after....

I'll be out also running spoons and rapalas mainly. Hoping the water will be cleaner than last weekend! Going to hit Gary Light right off the bat before the traffic shows up then head East. It's hard to run a large spread with to many boats and fishing isn't supposed to be stressful!!! Blu Moon on 68! ;)
