Fortunate to be in Costa Rica for the holiday and 1st day of fishing. Reportedly big schools of yellowfin tuna like last year but none today. Raised 2 sails and a marlin but only got 1 sail to the boat. Not the best pic but it was the biggest one I have caught. At it again on Christmas and hopefully Santa will bring us another Marlin.

Good going! From my experience, the tuna are much less predictable. Personally, I'd much rather catch a sailfish than a marlin. After the first minute or so of a marlin fight when there's nothing more spectacular in the fishing world, the rest becomes a work session. But good luck and Merry Christmas!

Out of curiosity where in Costa Rica? I fished the Quepos area a few years back. A friend of mine also fished north out of Tamarindo. "Pura Vida"
