TOPIC:

Just got back from a winter weather break at Port Aransas, TX. The weather was perfect!  Sunny and high 70s each day.  My friend Doug and I fished each day a little.  Caught some whiting (about perch sized panfish) from the shore but we went out on the Gulf of Mexico a couple days. One day we targetted red snappers and caught plenty of smaller ones but a couple were real brutes weighing over 20# each. Tough customers. The other day we fished for vermillion snappers which are "white bass" sized fish and had plenty of action with them.  The whiting, reds and vermillions are all great to eat so we had some tasty fish fries and brought home a few fillets.
