Boy did we get spanked on this trip! Started at Sterling State Park in Monroe, then Bolles Harbor, and finished at Catawba Island state park. Two days of fishing, and we only boated 3 walleye. We did lose our fair share that would have made the outcome look a whole lot better. We had calm like glass first half of day one, then the chop came in for afternoon. Mayflies were thick and the water was packed with them. Day two started with wind and 3-4 footers so we turned around before ever setting lines. Catawba was out of the wind, but walleyes were not snapping good there either. We got a nice smallie and a flock of sheep to keep us entertained, so we did keep busy and had fun. We went and checked out the Cabelas in Dundee, MI. My boy had a blast with the trout in the ponds you walk over and around, and all the fish and game mounts. That store is huge too! You win some and lose some!
