The 2018 season started with a bang or with a 12 gauge blast today. This bird pitched into a field at 6 am today gobbling when he hit the ground. So foggy I could barely see him. He was coming toward my 2 dekes that were calling to him and when he got to about 75 yards he hung up. For the next 3 hours he stayed there strutting and gobbling back to me. It took him another hour to move the last 30 yards I needed for him to get into range. He only did that when 2 other toms showed up and were coming in also. Fog had lifted 2 hours earlier and all the toms could see my setup. I took the shot and folded him up. Longest encounter I have had. I was stiff and sore and my bladder was screaming at me. Thank God it's over.

My Searunner 190, "Four "D's" and a "C". Retirement money well spent.
