Turkey hunting was pretty good this morning and I put some ninja like moves on a nice 3 year old bird and flipped him over dead with one shot at 30 yds. So I thought! I ran out to the bird and grabbed him by the legs and he promptly started to kick and twist. I could not let him go fast enough. He managed to cut me 3 times with his spurs. I swear I was bleeding as bad as the turkey. First time for everything I guess. Next time I will stand on his head before I touch those legs.

A nice collapsible Louisville Slugger would be a nice addition to my turkey vest. LOL. I just got fooled by a possum playin tom. Didn’t think I needed backup.

Hey Don first congrats with the nice bird, good job.

Karate lessons for turkey hunting needed.... Brought back good memories, similar thing happened to my son Jim I wished I could of had a pic of the look on his face. OMG!

I did get out a few times and only was able to pull a jake in. Ill see him next year.

Hey Ed,
Good to hear you got to get out and hunt some. Man I would have slapped the beak off a Jake bird this season. The season started way too late for the southern end of the state. Overall a poor season that ended on a good note. Just doesn’t seem to be the birds around like there used to be. Between the coyotes, bobcats, hawks, coons, and the ever present eagles there too many predators. Everything in the wild seems to love a turkey dinner.
Hopefully your Jake makes it back for you next season.
