I will be new to lake Michigan. I picked up a 21 foot cruiser and getting it setup for the big water. I will be asking questions when the time comes. Not a total green horn. Been out on several Erie charters. Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome, ask away! Biggest things are safety. Make sure you have a working radio and a backup handheld, and flares.

Tow boat US is a great membership to have also.

Welcome, I was in your shoes not long ago. Fished coho in '19 the covid and closing of the launches erased this coho season for me but I've now ventured farther out for the bigger fish this year.
With the help from this site i went from not really knowing anything about the fishery ( I have run boards previously on Erie) to being confident enough to run an 8 rod spread. And i even had a few great and more good days to boot. The guys here offer a wealth of info.

I always try to give an in depth report whenever I go out, try to pay it forward. Take the advice of grabbing a Towboat usa policy- hope you never need it but it's a great comfort to have. Enjoy- it is addicting!
