Good evening. I live down in Marshall County. Have owned Lund and Crestliner boats but haven’t ventured out on Lake Michigan. Currently own a Lund Tyee 1975 with 225 HP Four Stroke on it. Have been a walleye guy and love it. However as we know in Indiana it’s not the ideal place for it. Have done a few river trips and loved the Steelhead and kings that we encountered. Probably will launch out of Portage or St Joe for the most part. Looking to learn the salmon/trout game and here to take in information and learn. Hoping to launch Friday finally as I have been waiting to get my VHF antenna up and running. Just finished checking all the equipment to launch with the coast guard checklist and look forward to getting some lines in the water.

The quality of Lake Michigan fishing will make you mostly forget about the rest of the state.  It certainly happened to me.  If you sit back and learn from this site, and fellow anglers around you in general, you would be hard pressed to find a better fishery anywhere.

Thank you for the reply. Definitely look forward to learning what I can. Being so close to the lake it will be nice to also utilize our great resource that I haven’t over the years. Looking forward to it.
