That's amazing! My fishing travels have been limited to lake Michigan and my private pond for the last 16 years. Actually I just 1984 26ft Stamas Hardtop fisherman in 2020 after selling my 22ft Starcraft Offshore in 2005 because I figured I'd never fish lake Michigan again and only got out a few times in 2020 five or six times in 2021 and never put the boat in the water in 2022 so I'm definitely ready for 2023. Plan to fish the south end of lake Michigan and then travel north in Michigan but also planning to take several trips to lake Erie for walley and maybe Small Mouth Bass in the fall. Buffalo Bill and a couple guys that fished with him all the time would fish For Small Mouth Bass in the fall and fish around the islands and their arms hurt from catching so many fish. They didn't keep anything less than 4 pounds.

I have 2 pound bluegill and 2 pound perch in my pond pull 16 pound catfish and 5 plus pound large mouth bass in my pond so it's hard to go elsewhere when I can walk out my back door and catch dinner. Going to remove most of the catfish this year because they are eating the bigger bluegill.

i'm starting to realize how important close to home fishing is with the cost of everything. We have a camper set up on 10k acres of water in northern WI where we prefer to fish for crappies, bluegills and perch, thats where the wife and i take day trips to Ashland WI to fish walleyes on Chequamnon Bay, i also want to fish salmon by Bayfield.

Thanks for the Green bay info. It's an equal drive for me to Green Bay and Erie and since i know Erie already, we head there.  Still might try Green Bay some day just for something new.

I like to vacation to Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan.  Doing a week at Potato lake( Rusk county) Wisconsin and Hamlin lake, in Michigan  this year for the pannies and bass.

yep, i love the midwest. fished vermillion in Mn, we were the only boat pulling crawler harnesses and boards. I learned most of my trolling experiences fishing little bay de noc in the UP back in the late 90's, can't wait to get out and do some salmon fishing.
