We've been launching in the early morning darkness and fishing for a few hours. Pretty much the same routine for the past week or so. Once the sun rises in full strength the bite pretty much dies off by 9am. We quit buying minnows and just go out with a few pieces of cut up shrimp in a ziplock bag.. By the time any other boats see us and start heading toward us we have our limits and move off our spot and head back to the ramp. Heres a pic from a quick trip this Memorial Day morning ....

Real nice dude! Wonder if there's an evening bite. Are they post spawn fish? I saw some suspicious looking marks on the graph last week in that 50-60ft zone out of portage last week, but didn't investigate. I was at the beach in Michigan City today and there was a good amount of bait in shallow on the beach. I'm gonna fish Wednesday morning, I'll shoot you a text. Seems like a lot of options right now.
