Lake trout nets in 58 FOW west of Michigan City turned up some really nice jumbo perch this morning. Not too many fish but almost all were 12-14 inches. Most were full of eggs and the couple males in there were milting. Looks like peak spawn is just about to happen in the next week or so

Last net set of the spring in 81 feet north of Michigan City had a bunch of perch today. Spawn looks like it is maybe 2/3rds over, bunch of spent females. The time is near for them to start showing up shallow. Soon as we get some warmer weather and a bit more of a thermocline in 30 to 60 feet somewhere, it will be game on

Thanks for the info! I've been seeing some schools in 40-50 feet, wondering if they're perch.
