Fished all morning today and caught 2 small perch. Didn’t locate any schools either. Seemed the people around me were having no luck either. This is the 2nd time I’ve driven 2.5hrs and got skunked! Very frustrating!

Its a rough time of the year. Lake has been turning over from the weather and winds too.

At what point does it become better for Perch? This is my first ever year with a boat and trying to find Perch in LM. I'm a fairly inexperienced angler at this point. Thank you!!

My historical time frame was that when the kings show up, perching becomes very difficult until at least Halloween. By Thanksgiving they’re usually going good and will continue to be good til you can’t get out anymore. Seems like the last couple years though you can find some perch into September still in summer patterns. If you want to flatten the learning curve a little bit. You can scroll back through old posts from past years. Chitown-angler and Chilcagolandfishing.com are other sites that aren’t really as good as this one anymore but have tons of older info to look through.

We were out there as well. Didn't mark much at all. When we did pass over a school we'd turn around and they'd be scattered already.

Caught 5 fish in a 2 minute time period. That was it for the day. Lots of moving around and searching. Guessing it's going to be tough fishing for a while.
