Went out with two buddies, one of them LUND and ran to the grain silos, started picking some fish up soon after we got there, some decent barge traffic today plus some fairly dirty water started to make the bite difficult. Went into search mode and moved up river a little bit until we started marking some bait and perch, then it was a fish every drop for at least one of us for about 25 minutes to a half hour, mixed sizes, some throwbacks as always, but landed a bunch of 9-11 inch fish plus two jumbos, one from LUND and one from myself for sure, his was larger, 13 inches, mine was a little over the 12 inch mark. I kept 8, they each kept 11 or 12 and 13 or 14 respectively, ended up ultimately shy of the three man limit, but the fish kept were all good fish. Several double barges went through as we started to hammer them and I think that stirred up the water some because shortly after they almost completely shut off. Hope everyone has a great holiday and will be ready for the upcoming year of fishing, keeping fingers crossed that we get another few weeks of big lake fishing before any freeze up.

Is the north slip connected to the river?

The North slip is connected to the River through the Calumet Harbor by boat or by foot, walking (South from 87th Street) to the South slip on the same property. If you map old 87th Street USS property, you will see what I mean.
