Plan on launching Cal Park tomorrow (11-20-2022), head to the Calumet River mouth and down the river in search of those yellow bandits.
By chance anyone get out today? Winds strong but saw lake pretty boatable/fishable this area being protected by land.

Se safe out there

Did make it out this morning launching Calumet Park boat ramp around 8am. Surprisingly the ramp worked great. Just have to stay to left or right , NOT down the middle. Stay left or right and you'll miss the steel plates with bolts sticking out. Water level very low but launch my Lund with no issues. After launch we use the floating dock to pickup and drop off people. Just watch, water level low, depth around 3ft., Shallow. Trim motor up.
Was surprised very few boats were out. Lake waves like 1.5ft, awesome.
Boated to mouth of Cal River. No boats anywhere in sight. Graph a few of my marks, nothing. Worked our way up river finding a few marks in the first turn around basin. Only caught one keeper, few misses. Worked around to Crowley's. That's where we found three boats fishing. Few schools marked. Caught a few and watch other boats catch few. Boated to 89th. No boats there. Lots of shore fisherman but all where at the west end. Didn't boat that far down. Didn't want to interfere with them. Few schools but no bites. Went back to Crowley's ending up boating 10 big keepers. Missed several and threw about 6 back. Slow bites but good boated perch.
Boated back to Cal Park and loaded boat with no problems. I used the left side as you are backing up.

Water was 44 degrees(surface). River was little milky but got better as the day went on. Used minnows,

Did not go past Crowley's.

Sea ya out there this weekend.

Be safe
